From now on, when you make long distance calls to telephone numbers within Louisiana's 318 area code, dial 0 or 1 318 and then the number you're calling. The nation's continued telecommunications growth has created a shortage of telephone numbers.

By dialing the appropriate area code on all long distance calls, numbers are freed up for new business and residential customers. If you have long distance numbers within the 318 area code on any programmed services or equipment like Speed Calling, Call Forwarding, modems, or even a FAX machine, now's the time to reprogram them. Effective April 2, 1994, dialing the area code will be necessary to complete long distance calls to telephone numbers within the 318 area. Scutti Centre! Bel" Frank Shockley.
